My Baby and Us Magazine, Father's Day Special Issue

I wrote an article titled "Fearful Fathers Cause Children to Feel Inadequate" in the June issue of My Baby and Us Magazine, dedicated to Father's Day.

I'm sharing a small excerpt from the article below.

Children want a balanced and healthy father. By balanced, I mean a father who cares but isn't stifling, who sets rules but doesn't constantly communicate through prohibitions, who focuses on the child's development but doesn't expect perfection, and who experiences and feels love, warmth, attention, and compassion. Growing up expands the father's sphere of influence. The need for a father often grows even greater because the father represents the external world: a gateway to real life challenges and opportunities. As the child steps into the external world, they model their relationship with their father.
